Salubrious Selection: Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

Salubrious Selection: Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++
I've used this particular sunscreen for years, and I haven't used any other sunscreen that I think even comes close to how comfortable this is on the skin or how effective it is for sun protection.

Consistency and How it Feels

Shiseido's Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen has a very thin, liquid consistency, so be very careful when squeezing it out of the bottle. This milky consistency might be different than the more oily or creamier sunscreens that most people are used to, but it is still incredibly effective. When spread evenly, the sunscreen seems to adhere to the skin immediately and feels very comfortable. It isn't greasy, and to the touch it almost feels as if there is a powdery barrier there, but it doesn't leave a white cast on your skin.

I haven't encountered any other sunscreens that are as effective as this one. When used properly per its instructions, it really does block out the sun. What really proved it to me was once having seen someone I know simply pat some of this sunscreen on his back without bothering to spread the product evenly across his skin. He did not reapply the sunscreen after an afternoon at the pool, and at the end of the day he ended up with very visible hand and fingerprints all over the areas he managed to reach, while other areas that weren't protected were either tanned or burned.

This sunscreen is a bit more expensive than most, but I think it's worth it, especially if you spend a lot of time in the sun and would like to prevent sunspots, uneven skin tone and most importantly, skin cancer. It's about US$30 on for a 60 ml bottle of the SPF 50 PA++++, but it's a price I gladly pay to protect my skin.

Salubrious Selection: Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++Downside

I'm not sure if this is really a downside, but this product can be rather hard to wash off. I'd recommend removing it with Shiseido's sunscreen cleansing cream or a makeup remover (I personally prefer using my olive oil makeup remover). However, I rather appreciate the fact that it's hard to remove as it means it has really great staying power and stays effective for much longer.

I highly recommend this sunscreen, especially for those who have fair skin like I do. I've been spending a lot of time doing laps at an outdoor pool this summer and this sunscreen has done wonders to protect my sensitive skin.
